CFE (Federal Electricity Comision) is the only company in Mexico that provides the services of generating, the transmission and the distribution of electrical power services to over 23.7 million customers which is nearly 80 million Mexicans.
On their web site, you will be able to check your bill, see an illustration of the charges, and write to resolve any doubts or questions you may have regarding your billing statement. On this site you can also make your payments, contract the service, notify of electrical failures, and even check your meter. User friendly web page with an easy selection option from the menu on the left. Click and follow the instructions.
You can pay the electricity on-line via your local bank website or by the CFE website. To know how much you need to pay, get into the CFE website and register. |
Telephone

At this time, there is only one telephone company in the area: Telmex. They offer several services including telephone and internet. They have a new service where you can contract a telephone line for an address in Mexico and pay it from USA.

Gas

There are several Gas companies in Playa del Carmen, but the one that we recommend is Zeta Gas. You do not need a contract to receive gas. All that is needed is a call and instructions to make your order and address enabling them to home deliver the gas. They will take approximately 2 hours to arrive to your place for delivery. Cash payment is required at this time.
In Playa del Carmen the gas companies offer two styles to hold gas: stationary tank or a mobile tank. This holding method information is required when making your order. |
